No. There are no ads and no sponsored slots anywhere on the site. We may earn a commission if you buy through a store link, and it never moves a game up a list — the picks answer your words or they don't.

Live store data from IsThereAnyDeal, Steam and CheapShark, with game records from RAWG. Prices and availability move, so every game links straight out to the store — confirm there, not here.

The “games like” lists and the themed collections are written by hand, not generated — each pick carries a line explaining why it earned its place. Browse them.

No. That box appears for any installer whose publisher Windows can't name, and Companion isn't code-signed yet. Click More info, then Run anyway. A signing certificate is something we buy and renew, not something we build, and it's on the list — until then this is simply what an unsigned alpha looks like. If you'd rather check the file than trust the sentence: the SHA-256 of the installer we publish is served at /api/companion/releases/latest, and `Get-FileHash` in PowerShell gives you the hash of the file you downloaded. They should match.

Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) only. There's no macOS or Linux build yet — Companion is Windows-first while it's in alpha.

Yes. Companion signs in with the same account you use on the site, so create one (it's free) and sign in once. Your plan — Free or Premium — carries over automatically.

Only if you turn it on, and only when you ask. Screen reading is a Premium feature, off by default: you switch it on in Settings, then each capture happens on your keypress — never in the background, never on a timer. The image is cropped to your game window (nothing else on your desktop is included), it's used to answer that one question, and it's never saved to disk or stored on our servers. It's off in competitive games unless you explicitly allow it.

Yes — by reading the names of running programs, the same thing Task Manager shows. It never touches game memory, save files, or anything inside the game. Knowing the game just means you don't have to tell it what you're playing every time.

Use borderless or windowed mode. In exclusive fullscreen, opening the overlay minimises the game to the taskbar — the same thing that happens when you Alt+Tab. Nothing closes and nothing is lost: click the game in the taskbar and you're back where you were. It's how Windows handles exclusive fullscreen, not something we can work around, and screen reading has the same limit. Most games offer borderless in their display settings, and everything works normally there.

On your PC. Recent questions and pinned answers are stored locally on the device — there's no cloud sync of history across computers.

You can view them in Companion, but you manage them on the GamePing site. Companion is for asking mid-game, not for editing your tracking.

The caps rise too: 50 recommendations a day instead of 10, 25 saved runs, and 50 tracked games.

Steam Import connects your Steam library so GamePing learns from the games you own and your playtime — and stops suggesting what you already have. Taste DNA is the profile built from that library plus your searches and saved games, and it is what powers Weekly Picks, Deals For You and your Monthly Recap. The more you use it, the sharper it gets.

Premium is billed monthly or yearly through Stripe. After checkout, your plan updates automatically. To cancel or change billing, open your plan details — Premium subscribers get a Manage billing button there, which opens the Stripe customer portal.

Yes. You keep Premium until the end of your billing period, then return to Free — your saved data stays on your account.

Someone who signed up through your referral and currently holds a paid GamePing Premium subscription. If a member cancels, they stop counting toward your active total and your recurring commission for them ends.

Yes. You earn your tier's percentage every month (or year) that a referred member stays on Premium — not just once at signup. Keep your community subscribed and the income keeps coming.

Your tier is based on how many referred members are active Premium subscribers right now. As that number crosses 50 and then 200, your commission rate steps up to the next tier automatically.

The program is invite-only. Apply from the creator program page with your community links and a short note on how you'd share GamePing. If it's a fit, we'll issue your code — there's no open self-serve signup.

Commissions are tracked automatically when referred members pay. Payouts are handled manually each month for approved creators while we finish Stripe payout onboarding.
